Eastern grey kangaroo

One of the largest representative of family Macropodidae. The largest one is only a red kangaroo. Eastern grey kangaroo was enlarged to the collection of the Novosibirsk Zoo in 2008. First pair was transferred from Israel. Later several kangaroos were received. In 2014 first offspring was born. We understood that only when pouch of the female became visibly bigger, so cub was already grown up and occupied enough space. In 2016 cubs were in both groups. Enclosures of kangaroo in the Zoo consist of two parts – indoor area in pavilion and outdoor area. Entrances are opened since early spring, while it is still snowy, and closed in late autumn. Our kangaroos spend time outdoors until -10°C. For 3 years 7 cubs were born in our Zoo.
